"Marc was Great!"  David Bowie

Marc Bolan's career had taken a tumble in the mid seventies, but in 1977 it picked up with the release of several recordings and the "Marc" TV Granada Show. Marc, the show, was aired over the tail end of Summer 1977 culminating in a show that paired David Bowie and Marc together. David had the release of his new album "Heroes" and the pleasure of performing Heroes the title song on Marc’s show, and as the final credits came down, Marc and David jammed together for the last time.

"Dandy in the Underworld", it would be honest to say that this is not one of the better Bolan albums but it has got one or two stompers on it. An album released in the year before this was "Futuristic Dragon" which included the chart single "New York City".

Marc's style was often commented upon as sexy, sensual, trippy, and even endearingly silly, but these descriptions may detract from Marc's originality and competence.

Marc shall be remembered as one of the leading figures in the glam rock era if not the leader by virtue of his contemporaries and, of course, the fans.

Some intriguing song titles have included "My people were fair and had the sky in their hair but now they are content to wear stars on their brows" and "Prophets, Seers and Sages, the Angels of the Ages".
