An Hour
by Farawayeyes

did you know the man
who destroyed an age
who turned on himself
he did not restore
but he had the power

I knew the man
I know he does not like us
we are the mirror he looks at so vainly
he is very good at stretching time
sticking out neck
we'd break him to see what makes him tick
but he works far too hard
and he is still too cold

his generation living in their fifties
living in age scented gardens
he's too lucky for that
do you know the man
who held the world at a distance
who used the power of word
he braved discussion and deserved replies
but he denied he was an alternative
he had the hour
he had the ear
