Sunrise Sunset

magenta, pink, and purple too
gazing to the East, I see the morning sun
faintly shining it’s rays through the clouds
as the sun begins to rise, I feel a comfort
knowing you are beyond it
waiting there in its shadow
a new day is upon its way
one that will be filled with hope
I stare at its beauty wishing for a glimpse of you
to see your smile and offer a kiss

you see the sun as it sets to the West
its sky all ablaze
as darkness begins
stillness of the evening air brings you peace
because at the end of the horizon
I wait with desire, unrivaled and true
send me your strength to complete my day
the beautiful sky will long be remembered
as a symbol of my affection
my heart’s on fire, it's like the sun
